Sanam Karamally is a vibrant and ‘challenge-inspired’ consultant at Stimulus & Funverks Global. Her fascination with human psyche and its relation to organizational systems has led her into developing meticulous observational skills whilst empathizing with people at the same time. With a “Gung Ho” attitude she is able to come up with innovative client oriented solutions and has added value for 40 different companies across 9 different industries, such as MediaCom, Nestle, CNBC, Deutsche Bank, Procter & Gamble to name a few. She is an ambitious and determined team member who aspires to shape the corporate landscape in Pakistan by drawing upon her unique approach to business consulting.
Sanam started her career by working on Tetra Pak “Women Awareness Campaign” at Navitus, with the aim of creating awareness about the consumption of milk with over 8000 women in Karachi. She then became a part of NCD (Navitus Consulting Department) in the capacity of a Management Consultant. During this period, she closely worked with organizations to assist them in designing their corporate strategy and implement their Organizational Development plans. Her areas of expertise include competency modeling and talent development programs, as well as culture development initiatives to gauge culture, resistance and barriers to the change process and understanding team dynamics and synergies. Having conducted Sales & Distribution Assessment, she has added value to companies such as Zong Telecom & Pak Suzuki Motor Company. She has also been responsible for designing individual one on one targeted development plans tracked over time for senior and middle management in MNCs like Nestle & Emirates Airlines. Her experience is not only restricted to consulting assignments in the corporate local and MNCs sector but also in the government as well as social development sectors. Additionally, she is also a mentor for different programs like WomenX – A World Bank Project as well as for Mosaic Enterprise Challenge supported by Princes’ Trust International (UK). To gain a more diversified exposure in the service industry, Sanam joined the Royal Bank of Scotland as a Relationship Manager, where she gained a deep understanding of the financial sector in local market. At the bank, she successfully increased the customer base for her branch and managed to exceed her bancassurance target for the first quarter itself by 500%.
Sanam is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK. She did her schooling in Karachi (Pakistan) and Colombo (Sri Lanka) which gives her a unique perspective of appreciating different cultures, yet noticing commonalities. Sanam is a certified trainer and was a facilitator at The Young Leaders Conference (YLC) in 2003. A diverse exposure with distinction in HR Certification Program and experience in OD, Sales and Marketing enables Sanam to strategically communicate ideas from multiple perspectives. Indeed, “No one has ever learned fully to know themselves” fuels her desire to keep learning and growing. Interests lie in reading non-fiction essays, travelling to places of historic & cultural significance, attending networking events and writing articles based on social commentary.
She is currently heading Pakistan Operations for a Sri Lanka based destination management company, TBL Holidays (Pvt) Ltd. Working with a transnational team, she is an enthused professional who is continuously challenging industry norms by questioning them to seek smarter, more creative ways of managing businesses. Sanam resides in Karachi, Pakistan.
